We’ve had a lot of rain in Southern California lately. A lot. So much that we had to postpone Christine & Peter’s engagement session from over a month ago to last week. And it was seriously the best thing that could have happened. Besides showing up to one of the most gorgeous days we’ve seen in a long time, the park’s creek had risen so much because of the rain (so Malibu Creek State park actually does have a creek!).
Peter and Christine met through mutual friends seven years ago (and it’s still up for debate whether it was at The Souplantation or The Back Abbey), and they officially started dating once they got to know each other better in their small group at church. “I chased her, she gave in”, he says. “I say our first date was watching Frozen. He says it was our unintentional study date at Corner Bakery,” says Christine. When Peter proposed, it was around those closest to them, “We were on a mini family trip to Santa Barbara. Peter and I started building a sand castle with my 4 year old niece. When I dumped the first bucket of sand, there appeared the ring. My niece, being super excited, opened the box for me and he proposed. It was super cute and a very special moment.”
These two made Malibu Creek State Park look absolutely glamorous. Christine’s vintage inspired lace dress and flowy pink skirt looked like they were made to lounge on fallen logs, romp around the park, and wade in the rising creek. We had such a gorgeous day and are so excited for these two to tie the knot!
